About Dun Laoghaire
Taking the train from Dublin it will take you only 15 minutes to get to the coast town of Dun Laoghaire. A vibrant resort town and administrative center of the County, it offers the comfort of a modern tourist destination and authentic old Irish atmosphere.

The town was called Dun Laoghaire, which means Fort of Laoghaire. Laoghaire was the Irish King who ruled the place centuries ago. Later on with the English domination, it was renamed to Kingstown and kept this designation until in 1920 when the local authorities voted for the original name to be restored.
